The event took place on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, in Secondary section Assembly Hall of school premises. The students from primary to secondary took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day, a grand celebration was held in the school, and many activities were planned in the school premises. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as the children drew scenes of Independence Day celebrations, sang patriotic songs, and even wore tri-coloured clothes to mark the occasion. The day began with the hoisting & honour of unfurling the Indian tricolour flag by Principal Fr. Dr. Athnas Lakra S.J., followed by the National Anthem by School Band team. Commanding officer Mr. Johnsy Koshy had given Salute and Slogan command to all. The entire school courtyard reverberated with the rhythmic Patriotic Song played by Primary School & Secondary section. “Kaisa Menu lagaya kasambi Rang”, “Aazadi ki khuli hawa mai hum nikle seena taan ke hum bacche hindustaan ke” “Vande Matram”, “Sare jaha se accha, kadam kadam milaye ja, Aye mere pyare watan” etc. Along with our National Anthem, School Band beats of different patriotic songs. A Superb Patriotic dance performance was performed by the primary students. A broad smile could be seen on everyone’s face when the excited primary students got to release the tri-coloured helium balloons into the air. Asst. School Captain Master Aryan Wadhwani takes the Pledge. The events that followed, included a beautiful piece of patriotic Hindi song and a blindfold dance, performed by the students of the Secondary. An excellent speech on the auspicious occasion of Independence Day is given by School Captain Master Prabal Gupta. A special tribute was paid to soldiers through “Leke aayi hai Hawayein yeh ishara, Chaliye ne Chaliye Vatan mere yaara”, “Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo ,Mera Mulk mera Desh, Sarfaroshi ki tammana, Desh mere Desh mere meri AAN hai tu,”, the patriotic song by Primary and Secondary Students. Active participation was seen from the students, which gave a glimpse of their patriotic fervour towards the country. The school premises reverberated with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. A PowerPoint presentation on the Indian Constitution and Independence Day was also shown. The students brought the stage alive with their passion and love for the motherland. Different Awards distributions were also taken places on this auspicious occasion. The programme concluded with very inspiring speech given by the Teacher from Secondary Section Mrs. Amber Abid they said: “It’s not only a Festival nor a chance to celebrate, but it’s a day to remember the entire Indian Martyr’s and giving our tribute or homage to all of them who give his or her entire life to our Motherland India”. A Very Big Salute to our Indian Army.” The students of today hold the future of their country in their hands. It is important for the welfare of the country that its present generation should realize that the future is in its hands". On this special day, (15th August) lets promise our motherland that we will do everything to enrich and preserve our heritage our ethos and our treasure.
