In accordance with cleanliness drive started by our honourable Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and the role of schools has been instrumental in realizing the mission of “Swachh Bharat.” As the schools play a vital role in spreading the “Swachhta” awareness and implementation across the country, CBSE directed all schools to observe the Swachhta Pakhwada from September 1 to 15 , 2018 in order to this manner Campion School also observed “Swachhta Pakhwada” from 1st Sept’ to 15th Sept’.2018. Under this directive, “Swachhta Abhiyan Committee” of Campion School enthusiastically organised various competitions, speeches, debates, quiz and other activities for the realisation of the programme. The drive included Quizzing, Poster Making, Expression Writing, Declamation Contest, Idea Sharing and much more. Students and the mentors pledged to raise the mass awareness to achieve clean public space.
Principal Fr. Dr. Athnas Lakra S.J. and Vice Principal Fr. Amritlal Toppo S.J.,in his noteworthy appreciation mentioned the campaign as a daily discipline. Indeed the mass campaign has imprinted the young minds and their mentors with lifelong process for the cause of all. The ‘Swachhta Drive’ is not just in words but in the actions of Campion School.
During the week to celebrate Swachhta Pakhwada, all the students of the school were engaged in different activities. Special lectures were arranged for them in the morning assembly. A Special morning assembly was organised under the guidance of Member of Management committee and senior teacher Mr. Mahendra Kothari to declare and adopt Swachh Vidyalaya Swachh Bharat Campaign Oath was taken to maintain cleanliness all around to achieve the objective to attaining a clean country and a clean world. A meeting with students were conducted to highlight the importance of cleanliness and sanitation among children, raising the collective awareness to achieve clean classrooms, clean public space and sharing the knowledge about consequences of unhealthy environment. Inspection of health and hygiene of school by ‘Swachhta Abhiyan Committee’ and also by class representatives, house captain, head boy and monitors was taken place in this pakhwada.
Accordingly the action plan was made and considered. Essay writing competition on the topic “Cleanliness and Hygiene Practices” was conducted for students on cleanliness and hygiene. Quiz was organised to bring awareness among students about health and hygiene. Painting, Drawing, Slogan making and Posters making was conducted to bring awareness for clean surroundings. Students made posters on the topic “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. Students were also participated in the banner making activity. These banners were put up in and around school to spread the message of a clean and garbage free India. The teachers were directed to sensitise the students in their classes about the importance of cleanliness of the surroundings. Debate Competition and posting of awareness messages was the activity performed by the senior students. Even the administrative staffs were directed to weed out old files, records and broken furniture. The senior secondary students took the responsibility of sensitising common people around their locality about the cleanliness and hygiene practices.
