The school playground of Campion School, Arera Colony Bhopal was filled with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on this day as the Students of Secondary celebrated its 56th Annual Sports Day-2023, The whole playground had been decorated with flags, buntings and balloons a day earlier. Almost 1000 students from the Secondary school participated in the event. The Principal father Dr. Athnas Lakra SJ and Chief Guest of the occasion Mr. Ankit Soni (IPS M.P. Cader and Alumni from 2007 batch), Vice Principal Father and other dignataries formally commenced the programme by Lighting of the Ceremonial lamp. Principal Fr. welcomed the esteemed gathering and the dignitaries present on the dais, parents, staff and students of Campion. The chief guest, along with the other dignitaries received the salute during the parade and impressive March Past of the School students and then the oath ceremony was held. He declares the Sports meet Open. The inaugural programme commenced with the school choir singing the prayer song invoking God’s blessing and welcome dance by the girls students of the school in colourful attire, followed by the March past by the students. Students entered into the spirit of the occasion with an impressive march past presented by the four houses i.e., Nehru House, Ashoka House, Tagore House and Gandhi House of the School. The fantastic turnout from the parents and the pleasant weather were the perfect boost for the students on their sports day. The Secondary Athletes started the Annual sports day. The students display a wide array of colourful and reverberant events of P.T. Displayed such as Free Hand by 6th & 7th and Aerobics by 8th class students March Past, Races, and Drills etc. were also done by the students. Yoga was presented by the students of class 9th. The colourful, elegant formations of the drill representing the elements of the universe stole the hearts of the august gathering. They mesmerised the audience with their energetic performances on this Annual Sports day. As senior class VI to XII scorched the racing tracks, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes. Students of different age group like Sub junior, Junior, Interns and Seniors took part in various sports events like 100 mtrs. finals. Sub junior and Junior 4X100 mtrs. relay, Interns and Seniors 4X200 mtrs. relay by students are also one of the major attractions of this day.Students prepared themselves for this mega event under the Guidance of Physical Education Department HOD Mr Johnsy Koshy. Principal Fr. Dr. Athnas Lakra, S.J. and Vice-Principal Fr. Alok Kujur S.J., gives their best wishes and Congratulated to Mr. Johnsy Koshy other sports teachers and all the Medallists students for their Best, excellent and extraordinary performance in this Mega event. Overall Champion House award bagged by Ashoka House. Vote of thanks was given by Fr. Vice Principal; Lastly Chief Guest and Guest of honour declared the sports meet closed. Students cheered for themselves and signed out for the day and it was over with National Anthem.
